A is part of Tam Giang lagoon, located in Huong Phong Commune, Huong Tra district, Hue city. It became a prominent landmark that is widely known by tourists after Dap Thao Long Bridge used. Afternoons in September (before the rainy season) are ideal time to enjoy the peace of this dune.
To reach wild and peaceful Te dune, you can go along 49 highway towards Thuan An Beach then cross Tam Giang bridge and turn right along the path between rice fields. Spreading along the road to Con Te is a familiar Vietnamese village with the dikes, small boats, and goats grazing slowly in cool Tam Giang lagoon.
The scene is filled with the endless blue of sky and water. The surface with light waves creates a peaceful landscape. Fluffy clouds make the autumn sky become bluer. You will be amazed and become speechless when facing the harmony of water and clouds. It is considered as a shelter of brackish larvae, so this land looks like a miniature living museum. When the tide comes down, brown strips separating the lagoon water zone appear next to small water creeks.
Because Tam Giang lagoon is a meeting place of rivers before pouring to Thuan An Beach, its water has a special blue with many oyster cliffs. There is also mangrove forest planted by local people to prevent flood. Cypresses, Su, Mam and mangroves were planted in Te dune through "Adaptation to climate change and water resources management at community level in Thua Thien - Hue" project, funded by The Centre for Social Research and Development (CSRD)
Although original purposes of this forest are climate change prevention and environmental protection, it also contributes to the wonder of the scenery here. Mangrove forest majestically standing in vast water zone is a beautiful setting for those who love fresh air, relaxation and tranquillity.
Sun set is when people go drop shrimp and fish lift nets in creeks around the shore in Te dune. These people here earn their living by fishing. In addition to localize water zones for shrimp, fish and aquatic product farming of rich people, poor people have to paddle and drop lift nets to catch shrimp and fish by hand.
You can immerse yourself in a relaxing and tranquil place with the typical beauty of Vietnamese countryside. Recently, Con dune and Tam Giang Lagoon have been a new destination with many wild features that are suitable for traveling with friends and family
