To preserve, enhance, and popularize this beautiful national culture, “Hoi An water puppetry” programs have officially been organized to serve residents and tourist by Hoi An Center for Culture and Sports.

Usually, every turn of water puppetry is associated with Vietnamese agricultural life activities from thousand years ago as fishing, crabbing, buffalo tending, cultivation, duck catching, and kids playing game. Besides, there are also turns that is deeply imbued with Hoi An and Quang culture like Apsara dance, Legend of Cu (kind of monster).
